July
Eat and Learn: Ice Cream Social and DVD Viewing
Cool off this summer by joining the Fibromyalgia Association of Houston for a double treat Saturday, July 17 at 1 p.m. at an ice cream social and a DVD presentation of Update on Fibromyalgia.

What a great way to spend a hot summer Saturday afternoon! We’ll begin with make-your-own-sundaes, and then watch the DVD. We’ll have a short discussion afterwards. Spouses and family are always welcome.

The video features speaker Sean Mackey, M.D., chief of the Division of Pain Medicine and associate professor of anesthesia at Stanford University Medical Center. Mackey is a national leader in the area of pain management.
The recorded lecture provides an overview of nature of fibromyalgia; its effects on neurotransmitters and pain receptors; the impact of physical and psychological factors and treatment and strategies for coping with fibromyalgia.

The DVD, produced by Stanford Hospital and Clinics, was recorded in 2008.

September

If you wish to spend Friday night at the hotel, rooms are available at a discounted rate. We will not have any vendors at our symposium, but we will have numerous FMAH items for sale.
